OUR PROCEDURE

1. We announce when a dog is pregnant and estimate the number of pups that she will have, and what color they will be. (Based on past performance)

2. We announce her approximate due date and based on that date we estimate the approximate “Take Home”date.-

3. We begin taking deposits to reserve a puppy. Your choice of puppies is based strictly on the order that we received your deposit. ie: If you reserve a yellow female and the litter has five yellow females and your deposit was received first, you get first choice of the yellow females. If your deposit was received fourth, you get to choose fourth ect. If you were the sixth deposit received and there were only five yellow females we will refund your deposit or, you may apply it towards a future litter.

4. We will keep you updated with pictures of the Mom and progress reports. You’ll know when she goes into labor and when she starts to give birth. As soon as possible, we will send out the first pictures of the puppies. (Usually first thing the next morning) (They are always born in the middle of the night:) This will continue throughout the eight weeks that the puppies are with us.

5. At five weeks old we give the pups their first vaccines and send out a schedule for everyone who has one reserved to come and pick out their puppy. It is the policy of many breeders to pick out your puppy for you but we think it is better to let you do this. ( Many of our adoptees just sit down in the middle of five or six pups and let one of the pups choose them.) Because of this it is very important that we get everyone to come and choose in the order that we received their deposit. This is the reason we make this by appointment.

6. We use different colored collars on each puppy so that we can be sure to be able to identify them correctly.

7. Once the puppies are eight weeks old we take them to our vet for their final check up and second set of shots and to get their health certificates.

8. We send out an email announcement so everyone can come and take their puppy home over the next two days.

Remember, we are always here after you take your puppy home for questions or advise, and if the occasion ever arises that you have to give up your puppy we ask that you make every effort to find a suitable home with a good family or a relative. If that is not possible we ask that you contact us. We never want one of our babies to end up in a shelter.

FOR THE AMOUNT OF: $_______________________________________________________

1.______The Seller certifies that puppy is in good health, has been vaccinated and dewormed according to the accompanying Health Certificate at time of sale.

2.______ The Buyer agrees the puppy may not be determined unfit for sale on account of an injury sustained or illness contracted after the Buyer takes possession of the animal. Additionally, a veterinary finding of intestinal or external parasites is not grounds for declaring the puppy unfit for sale unless the puppy is clinically ill because of that condition. Buyer must provide proof of findings to Seller. Seller reserves the right to have puppy re-examined by a veterinarian of Seller’s choice.

3.______Seller guarantees congenital or hereditary disorders that adversely affect the health of the puppy for one year from puppy’s purchase date. If Buyer’s licensed veterinarian diagnoses such disorder, proof must be sent to Seller immediately. In the specific case of Canine Hip Dysplasia (CHD), findings must be provided in the form of documentation from  OFA only, not simply Buyer’s veterinarian. Seller reserves the right to have puppy re-examined by a veterinarian of Seller’s choice. If confirmed, Seller will provide Buyer with a replacement puppy from another litter or a full refund of purchase price only. Under no circumstances will a diagnosis from Pennhip serve as an acceptable diagnosis as Pennhip test are not recognized by AKC and are not time proven.
4.______Buyer agrees to avoid extended periods of physical activity, such as strenuous play, forced running for any distance, jumping, excessive stair use, pulling weights, mushing, running aside bicycles or rollerblades, or allowing puppy to become overweight before puppy is fully mature (approximately one year old). Such activities can impede proper bone and joint growth and lead to non-hereditary CHD and other self-inflicted joint problems. If CHD/joint problems are diagnosed and found to be caused by such activities it will not be covered by the One Year Health Guarantee stated in paragraph 3.
5.______Buyer has been informed of future puppy vaccinations due, along with dewormings, and agrees to have them done on time to protect the health of the puppy. Failure to do so will render this contract null and void.
6.______To be covered by the One Year Health Guarantee in paragraph 3, the puppy must be owned by the person who originally purchased the puppy from the Seller. At all times the puppy must have received proper nutrition, been up to date on vaccinations, regular dewormings, monthly heartworm prevention, yearly veterinarian examinations, and have had a healthy living environment and proper exercise. Treatable skin disorders, any disease or condition brought on by trauma, neglect, stress, or poor nutrition will not be covered. Failure to perform the above routine care will render this contract null and void.
7.______Buyer agrees to limit exposure to dog parks, pet stores, rest areas, veterinary office floors, or other high traffic pet areas until after puppy is 16 weeks old or fully immunized (per Buyer’s licensed veterinarian). Failure to do so will render this contract null and void.
8.______Buyer is aware puppy is being sold as a pet and family companion with  AKC Registration Papers. Seller does not guarantee showing or breeding potential.
9.______Buyer agrees that they have thought out the decision of purchasing a puppy, and assumes full responsibility for the care and introduction of your new family member into your family. Seller shall never be liable to Buyer or any third party for any consequential, incidental or special damages resulting from or in a manner related to the puppy.
10.______If for any reason, other than stated in paragraph 3, Buyer returns the puppy to Breeder there are NO REFUNDS or EXCHANGES.
11.______Buyer agrees to never place puppy into any type of animal shelter or rescue group, but return puppy to Seller if they can no longer care for puppy. Seller will not be responsible for any expenses incurred.
12.______Feeding Schedule: Your new puppy is just like a baby. You MUST take responsibility for monitoring their eating and drinking, especially in the 1st two days following their arrival to your home. Sometimes a new puppy can have a very stressful transition into a new home. Your puppy is currently on Purina puppy chow dry food.   Seller understands what you feed your new puppy is a personal decision, but please keep in mind that diarrhea may occur if food is changed too quickly, which can then lead to other serious issues. So, please if you have a preference in food other than Purina puppy chow, make the switch gradual over a 2 week period.
13.______Buyer acknowledges Seller does not guarantee size, color, or coat type (including whether puppy is hypoallergenic or non-shedding), even though Seller has made every effort to determine those attributes.

14.______By signing and initialing this contract, Buyer is aware of and agrees to uphold to the terms and conditions herein. Seller makes no expressed or implied warranties or guarantees other than those set forth in this contract of sale and healthy puppy guarantee.
